Local Line started as a simple idea: make it easy for farmers to sell directly to buyers. What began as a specialized tool for farms has grown into a global platform used by producers, distributors, grocers, and restaurants to shorten the distance between the people who grow our food and the people who need it.

Questions about selling, operations, and switching platforms
Do my buyers need to be on Local Line already?
No. You can invite buyers to your storefront and they can order without a Local Line account. For food hubs, you can also add vendors directly — they don’t need their own subscription unless they want one. The platform works for you even if you’re the only one using it.
What happens to my existing customer relationships?
Nothing changes. Local Line is not a marketplace that sits between you and your buyers — you keep your relationships, your pricing, and your data. We’re a platform, not an intermediary. You control every aspect of how you sell.
How long does onboarding actually take?
Most farms are up and running within a week. Our team handles the migration — including all your products, pricing, customer data, order history, and delivery zones.
Will my pricing go up as I grow?
No. Local Line has fixed plan pricing — we don’t charge a percentage of your revenue or penalize you for growing your order volume. The only variables are add-ons for extra price lists or vendors beyond your plan limit, which are capped at reasonable rates.
Can I migrate data from my current platform?
Yes — and we do it for you, for free. Our team transfers customer records, order history, product listings, and delivery zone configurations from any platform, including Barn2Door, GrazeCart, CSAware, Local Food Marketplace, and custom spreadsheet setups.
Is Local Line a marketplace? Do you take a cut of sales?
No. Local Line is shared infrastructure — not a marketplace. We charge a flat monthly subscription, not a percentage of your revenue. You keep your buyer relationships, your data, and your margins. The buyer discovery feature connects you with new buyers, but we never own those relationships.

Do my suppliers need to already be on Local Line?
No. You can discover and invite new suppliers through the platform, and existing Local Line farms can connect to your account immediately. Many buyers start with just one or two suppliers and expand their network over time.
How does Local Line fit into our existing workflows?
Local Line integrates with popular ERP and OMS platforms to ensure your workflows don’t need to change. We have advanced API and EDI integrations and a team that’s ready to roll up their sleeves. QuickBooks, Mailchimp, Square, Routific, and more via Zapier. It’s designed to layer into existing procurement operations — not replace them. Your team can be placing orders within days of onboarding.
What sourcing compliance and food safety tools are included?
Local Line includes 50+ built-in reports covering spend by supplier, product traceability, and fulfilment compliance. Food safety documentation and lot-level traceability tools are available for buyers who need it for institutional or regulatory requirements.
Can we manage multiple supplier relationships at once?
Yes. Local Line is built for multi-supplier sourcing. You can manage dozens of farm relationships, set purchase terms per supplier, track spending by category or farm, and consolidate orders across your entire local procurement program.
Is local sourcing really as reliable as a national distributor?
With Local Line, yes. Real-time inventory, automated order confirmations, and fulfilment tracking give your procurement team the same operational visibility you’d expect from a national distributor — applied to your direct farm relationships.
What if we need support after we go live?
Our support team is staffed 9am–9pm EST, 7 days a week — including weekends. Not just weekday business hours. The people you talk to understand how food procurement actually works, not just software support scripts.
