As farmers and food hubs gear up for a busy selling season, we're excited to roll out a series of powerful updates designed to streamline operations, save time, and help you maximize profits. From enhanced inventory tracking to improved order management, these new features are built to make your selling season smoother and more successful than ever.

Here’s what’s new:

Streamlined Order Management with Barcode Scanning

Logging orders just got faster! With our new barcode scanning feature, you can skip the manual entry and scan barcodes to quickly add products when logging orders in Local Line. It's fast, accurate, and perfect for busy days at the market or in-store. Click the video below to see this in action!

New Table Features and Bulk Actions for Faster Management

We know managing inventory can be time-consuming, so we’ve added new updates to help you save time:

  • Bulk remove products: Need to clean up your price list? Now you can bulk-remove multiple products at once.
  • Product and package codes visible: Search for products by Internal Product ID or Package Codes in your Price List table for easier navigation.

Powerful New Filters for Greater Control

Get all the data you need from your Local Line tables. Our enhanced filter options make it easier to find exactly what you’re looking for:

  • Filter by Customer Note in Orders Table: Quickly identify orders with customer notes for better communication and order handling.
  • Filter by Store Credit in Orders Table: Easily isolate orders paid with store credit for simpler accounting and CSA share management.
  • New filters in the Subscriptions Table: Filter by:
    • Fulfillment type
    • Pickup location
    • Delivery plan
    • Fulfillment date

Enhanced Price List Visibility for Better Customer Experience

Shoppers can now easily browse all public price lists directly on the storefront, improving transparency and simplifying the buying process. This update ensures that even guest shoppers can view available pricing, while private price lists remain exclusive to logged-in customers with the appropriate access.

Improved Log Order Features for Faster Processing

We've made logging orders faster and more efficient with new features designed to save you time and keep important details front and center. Alongside barcode scanning, these new updates will save you time when selling in person:

  • Responsive Orders Table: Our new Orders Table adapts seamlessly to different screen sizes, so you can manage orders on the go from your phone or tablet.
  • Set Default Fulfillment Plan and Payment Method: Save time by pre-setting your preferred fulfillment plan and payment method within your price list settings. These selections will automatically populate when logging orders.
  • Customer Notes Now Visible in Log Order: Important customer details will now appear directly on logged orders to ensure you never miss key information. These notes will soon be included in order exports as well.

Smarter Inventory Tracking

Managing inventory just got even smarter with our new Product Variants feature. While Local Line has always offered powerful inventory tools, this update fills a crucial gap. Now, you can track inventory by package instead of just by product.

For example, if you sell apples and have 10 large apples and 10 small apples, you no longer have to combine them under one inventory count of 20. Instead, you can list them as one product—apples—with distinct inventory counts for each size. This is especially useful for livestock farms with different-sized cuts, farms selling pre-packaged goods like flour in various bag sizes, or those offering apparel with size options like small, medium, and large.

In addition to Product Variants, we've also introduced enhanced box inventory tracking. You can now choose to track your box inventory by package availability or manage it independently. If you select package-based tracking, a "Calculated by packages" message will appear in your boxes table, giving you clear insight into how your inventory is managed.

Boost Storefront Conversions with SEO and User Enhancements

We've introduced several updates to help your storefront attract more shoppers and improve their buying experience. From improved SEO that boosts your visibility in local searches to smarter checkout features like auto-populating calendar dates and clearer subscription details in the cart, these enhancements are designed to drive conversions and keep customers coming back.

  • Improved SEO for Better Discoverability: We've enhanced your Storefront, Product Details, and About Us page titles to include your city, state, and country. This boosts your visibility for location-based searches like "pork loins in New York State."
  • Auto-Populating Calendar Dates: When customers select a fulfillment date, the calendar picker now defaults to the next available delivery or pickup date, streamlining the checkout process.
  • Subscription Frequency Display in Cart: Customers can now see the subscription frequency directly in their cart, improving transparency and reducing confusion.

Get Ready for Your Most Profitable Season Yet!

With these new features, Local Line is here to help you save time, increase sales, and manage your business more efficiently. We’re committed to giving you the tools to thrive this year and beyond.
