At Local Line, we’re always looking for ways to make selling easier and more effective for farmers and food hubs. One area we knew needed more visibility was email communication. If you’ve been using Local Line to send out price lists and messages to your customers, you know, there hasn’t been an easy way to understand how those emails performed.
We built Communications to answer those questions. This new feature is designed to give you a clear, centralized view of your outbound emails so you can track engagement, troubleshoot delivery issues, and refine your outreach over time. With these insights at your fingertips, you can start making smarter decisions about how and when to connect with your customers.
The Communications tab, now available in your back office, gives you access to all your email activity. This includes price list emails, whether they’re scheduled automatically or sent manually, as well as custom messages sent from your Customers table. Each email campaign is logged in a table that shows when it was sent, how many recipients it reached, how many opened the email, and how many clicked.
The dashboard also shows how many messages bounced or were dropped entirely, giving you insight into email deliverability issues. If certain customers aren’t engaging or your campaigns are falling flat, these metrics help you identify what’s going wrong and adjust accordingly. With this data, you can take proactive steps to update contact information, adjust your timing, or refine your messaging.
Further, by clicking the “Recipients” button for any campaign, you’ll see a detailed view of each email sent. Here you’ll get essential email metrics such as delivery rate, open rate, click-through rate, and bounce rate.
In the table, you will see specific recipient activity, including the recipient’s email address, name, company (if available), and a real-time status indicator. Statuses include Delivered, Opened, Clicked, Bounced, and Dropped.
The search functionality allows you to quickly find specific recipients by email address, customer name, or company name. From there, you can click directly on the email address to send a new message or open their customer card.
Only customers who are opted into email marketing will receive your campaigns. You can manage these preferences directly from each customer’s profile, or review them in bulk through the Customers and Price List Members tables.
Communications is live and ready to use in your back office. Whether you're running regular price list updates or sending tailored messages to specific groups of customers, this feature gives you the clarity and control to see what’s working and improve what isn’t. It’s a valuable new tool for anyone looking to build stronger, more effective relationships with their customers.
